The Flindt range of light fixtures from Louis Poulsen – Flindt Bollard and Flindt Wall are perfect units to bring bold and sculptural illumination to indoor and outdoor spaces.
These elegant fixtures designed by Danish designer Christian Flindt follow similar aesthetics of a carved-out lighting scheme and projects soft luminance in multiple directions.
The Bollard – a cylindrical structure and the Wall – a circular fixture have distinguishing features. The design comprises of an opening at the top which directs light from two LED bulbs down the front of the unit illuminating the surrounding space and creating a subtle glowing ring of reflected light along the fixture rim. A portion of light is also distributed up and back, creating indirect lighting in the shape of a half-moon. These multiple lighting effects help enhance the space, creating an attractive as well as subtle yet strong luminance that is both warm and inviting.
The Flindt Bollard seems a more suitable option for outdoor lighting. However, its successor – the Flindt Wall makes way for
multipurpose usage. It can be placed at any level depending on the desired effect and the location. Indoors, it’s ideal for entryways, hallways, stairwells and other spaces that call for gentle illumination, and outdoors it mounts beautifully on any wall to light up terraces, yards, pathways and driveways.
A combination of the two units – Bollard and Wall, can be used to illuminate paths and buildings to create a modern, chic and unified aesthetic.
Louis Poulsen has always sought, not only to design lamps, but also to shape light and create an atmosphere that makes people feel good, both indoors and outdoors. The inspiration stems from the ideology that the shape of light creates space, and products should live harmoniously within the space they define, creating effects – indirect, soft or inviting.
