Scientechnic Life Sciences division conducts interactive workshop at the RAK Medical & Health Sciences University’s Translational Medicinal Research Center.
The Life Sciences team together with partner, New England Biolabs (NEB), conducted a workshop on ‘High Molecular Weight DNA Extraction’ at the RAK Medical & Health Sciences University’s (RAKMHSU) Translational Medicinal Research Center (TMRC). The workshop was attended by RAKMHSU students and supporting staff. The university’s administrative officials, Dr. Ismail Ibrahim Ali Matalka, President, Prof. Ali Hajeer, Vice President – Academic Affairs and Dr. Mohamed El-Tanani, Vice President – Research & Post Graduate Studies were also present at the session and actively participated. Participants freely interacted with key speakers Dr. Kermen Bolaeva (Area Sales Representative Middle East & CIS) and Dr. Pooja Shivappa (In-charge TMRC & Assistant Professor Biochemistry, RAKMHSU). They even had the opportunity to engage in practical learning by extracting HMW DNA, checking the purity and concentration of the DNA extracted, and performing PCR on the miniPCR® mini8 thermal cycler and run miniPCR® blueGel™ electrophoresis, for a well-rounded experience.
