The UAE’s Fire Safety and Life Protection Code was updated in March 2016 and has redefined the local construction industry’s design and engineering operations. Easa F. Al Gurg, General Manager of Scientechnic, spoke to Construction Week about how while existing codes and standards in the UAE are sufficient to meet requirements, the spate of regional fires has necessitated that the standards are updated.
